

Brandon Michael Herrera
Brandon Herrera is a Texas based writer, director, sound engineer, and a graduate from the Radio-Television-Film program at the University of Texas. Brandon’s sophomore short film The Student Film garnered local and national praise as it earned an audience award from ATX Showcase, and a Best Comedy nomination and Best Sound Mixing award from IndieX film festival.
Brandon has worked as a coverage writer for Austin Film Festival as well as a teaching assistant for Emmy Award winner and Motion Picture Sound Editor Korey Pereira. Recently, he worked as a rental technician at Austin Movie Gear where he educated and provided production sound services to local Austin filmmakers.
As Brandon further develops his voice as a filmmaker, he hopes to continue creating more personal stories that speak to his Mexican-American identity and contribute a distinctive perspective to stories that often go unheard, representing overlooked experiences and fostering understanding across cultural divides.
